Rock Band

I failed to mention one of the exciting parts of our Christmas this year (please ignore that this posting is coming in mid-January). We went to Best Buy because we were thinking about the Rock Band game for the Wii, that we have had so much fun planning at the Markwell's. Well, Helen sealed the deal when she took to the seat and started pounding away like Alex Van Halen on the drums. When we finally pulled her away, she cried and cried for Rock Band. Secretly of course, we all want to be rockstars!
Rock Band 2 made it's first appearance at the Walker house, where brother Michael, niece Chloe, and "Ol' Smokey" (rocking the guitar below) all took a turn at the various instruments. Why they kept putting me on vocals, I'm not sure. My boy choir days are long gone.

Next, the Johnson's basement was taken over by the racous sounds of "Eye of the Tiger", sung here by the lovely Monica. Kim's brother Jonathon is adding some wild flair to the song. All of the children took turns and we made quite a band!
Back in Greenville, we threw an impromptu New Year's party for the neighbors, where once again the rockstar spirit came alive in a loud and sometimes off-key way. I'd like to say it was our unbridled wildness that sent someone to the ER, but it was actually just the unfortunate discovery of a cashew allergy in young Brian. He's doing much better now, by the way.

The week after Christmas, Helen and I had some great Daddy-Daughter time with lots of activities such as going to the park, running errands, reading stories about animals of Alaska, cooking Kim dinner, oh and maybe helping me start a new band. Here ,Helen is playing a guitar solo, while showing the last remnants of her sweet mullet hairstyle.

Rock on!
