Where in the world is Helen K. Walker?

Answer: Texas... Houston & San Antonio.

We've once again wandered outside our state borders for another short vacation. Friday night was a familiar drive to Atlanta, where we were able to get a short visit with Joel, Nari, James, and Annie from Ohio... my how they've all grown! Dora was once again a big favorite by the second cousins. We then made our way to Hartsfield for Helen's first airplane ride. We made our way through the busy airport with not too much trouble, and made it just in time to be the last one's on the plane. After a few skeptical looks at the wide-eyed baby, we were off. Nursing as we took off kept Helen quiet and we had a pleasant flight.

In Houston, we spent the night visiting with Kim's cousin Kay Anne, Greg, and their adorable boy Christopher. I think I'm extending my fan base, since Christopher really seemed to take to me. It was fun playing with him and I look forward to when my little one can be just as fun. And next time you're in Sugarland, stop by Lupe Tortillas for the best fajitas we've ever had. Delish!

On Sunday, we traveled to San Antonio to visit the Jones', our former next door neighbors. We're having a great time here, especially since it's been so long so we've seen them. We had a leisurely morning and then visited some of the spanish Missions to get some history of the area. We then went to the craziest restaurant I've been to in a long time. The Magic Time Machine is a campy little place where the staff dresses in character. Jason got autographs from Pochohontas, Sleeping Beauty, Jack Sparrow and Will Turner, Beetlejuice, Strawberry Shortcake, and our wonderful waitress Velma who played the Scooby-Doo character supremely. She helped embarass Josh in celebration of tomorrow's 16th birthday by bringing Scooby snacks with candles and a chorus. A cool evening swim finished off a hot day.
